Pious Comic Chapter 6 Page 14. Silence finds Betdyu, injured. S: Oh no. Nononono. He kneels beside her. His words are fuzzy, distant.

Pious Comic Chapter 6 Page 15. S: It's alright. I'm here. You'll be alright. Silence frantically looks through his pockets for something that might help. S: I've got dog's blood here. It's an herb to ease pain. I'm going to grind some into a paste. It'll only take a moment.

S: I'm going to put some on the wound, but it'll be most effective if you can swallow some as well. Can you- can you manage a mouth for me? A pair of thrashing snakes jaws form out of the blob. Silence feeds it some paste, and it shrinks back into shapelessness.

S: Good. That's very good. You're doing wonderful. He sits and watches, anxious. He starts to reach for the knife but pulls back, uncertain. For a while Betdyu continues to writhe, but then, slowly, her form starts to stabilize. The knife is through her snake's tail.

Silence's dialogue gets less fuzzy, until his words and hands are the most clear and stable thing on the page, grounding. S: Good. Good. I'm going to remove the knife, now. I'll be as gentle as I can, and I've got a poultice here, hogleaf to prevent sickness and Annie's mint to slow the bleeding. You'll be alright. He removes the knife. A cloud of malicious-looking smoke hisses out of the wound. He places a cloth with the poultice over it. The hissing gradually dies down.

S: That's it. Deep breaths. You're doing well. Rest a moment, then I'll wash and suture the wound. When it's finally done, he sits back and looks at Betdyu. The art is no longer chaotic and surreal. Reality sets in. S: Does that- does any of that- will you be alright? Betdyu just looks at him, then closes her eyes and falls asleep, exhausted. He picks her up carefully, cradling her inside his cloak.
